August 14, 1903 The high school board has elected T. S. McQuiddy principal of the high school for the coming year, and its corps of teachers is now complete. Miss Annie Allen is vice principal and C. E. Green will conduct the commercial department. Supervisor Ormsby has placed a permanent watering trough in the canyon, that is fed by a spring in the bank. The auction sale of the personal property of the Seaman estate, held last Friday and Saturday, was well attended. The household effects brought $325, $75 more than the appraisement, and the stock also sold well. Judge Cluft, of Oakland, Hon. H. H. North, United States immigration commissioner at San Francisco, and A. W. North, of Woodland, made a trip to their canyon ranch last Saturday. They made arrangements with C. C. Councilman to manage the ranch. Buckeye school will open August 31, with Fern Hemenway as teacher. Sam Hoy went to Vallejo Tuesday morning with a string of six horses, five of which will enter the races there. Mrs. Henry Brinck went to San Francisco this morning. She will go from there to Ben Lomand, and will be gone a week or two. ]]>
