July 17, 1953 Pedro L. Fernandez, son of Mr. and Mrs. A L. Fernandez, arrived home Monday evening for a 30 day furlough. Four local youths are enrolled this week in the KFBK-Sacramento Bee baseball school at Edmonds Field, Sacramento. They are Billy Ramos, Pete Martinez, Jimmy McCoey and Sam Biasi. Mr. Murray Goodyear, Mr. N. Olson and Mr. E. E. Zimmerman attended a civil defense meeting Tuesday evening in Woodland. The assessed valuation in the City of Winters has been set at $949,660 by Yolo County Assessor C.C. Stitt. Mrs. Juanita Vieu has been visiting this week with her daughter in Sacramento and with her son up the canyon. The Gaddinis left last weekend for their summer place on the Russian River. Mrs. Verda Erb of Reno, Nevada, is spending a month’s holiday on the Henry Bowman ranch in the Wolfskill district. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Niemann have as their guests their two little granddaughters, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Todrank of Sacramento. Miss Diane Young was initiated in the Davis Assembly, Order of Rainbow for girls at as special meeting in July. Mr. and Mrs. Roe L. Judy of Esparto have as their guest for two weeks their granddaughter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Judy of Palo Alto. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Willard left the last of last week for their summer cottage at Bodega Bay.]]>
