By Cheryl Moore Winters Destination Imagination (DI) had a very successful year. This year five teams (four returning and one new) worked from October through March on a challenge that they performed at the Regional tournament on Saturday, March 2. Three teams choose the improvisational challenge that had research, spontaneity and storytelling involved. One team choose the technical challenge which involved engineering, research and strategic planning. The final team choose the fine arts challenge which involved theater arts, script writing and prop design. All teams also performed an instant challenge that is all about quick, and creative critical thinking. All teams put in a great performance and had fun despite the very wet and rainy day. Two of the qualifying teams have decided to move onto the State tournament which will be held in Clovis on Thursday, April 6. Winters DI runs strictly through volunteers. Thank you to the amazing Team Managers (Cori Bronson, Jill Aguiar, Melanie Gentles and Rachel Skinner) who have given countless hours to help their teams be successful. If you want to know more about DI reach out to Cheryl Moore. She can be reached at 530-902-1083 or CmmMoore45@gmail.com. General information about DI can be found at caldi.org. There will be an informational meeting for next year in early September. Check the paper and school bulletins for more information in the fall.]]>
