August 19, 1938 A total of $458.02 was raised at the street dance last Saturday. Proceeds will go toward cleaning brush out of the center of the creek and to constructing bath houses and lavatories for the convenience of swimmers. Douglas Fenley broke his right arm at the wrist Saturday morning as he was cranking his car. Mrs. L. H. Gregory announces that Apricot School will open for the fall term, Monday, August 29. Mrs. C. A. Elliott and Miss Vernan of San Anselmo were Sunday motorists and guests at the Mrs. J.R. Johnston home. Eugene Ireland and Eddie Baker left Monday for Berkeley where they will enroll at U.C. Mrs. R. F. Reasoner and daughter Miss Jennie returned Saturday evening from a three weeks’ visit with relatives in Oregon and Washington. Mrs. Helen L. Pleasants, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hoskins and daughter Jean are among Santa Cruz vacationists. Mrs. John McColl who is spending the summer with her mother Mrs. A. P. Pleasants in Olive district, is coming to the Capitol this week where she is substituting for a vacationing secretary in the office of Senator McColl.]]>
