July 15, 1938 James Ish and Robert Gale expect to leave Sunday on a tour of the northwest and the Canadian Rockies. D.B. Walters, J. M. Robinson, J.Johansen and J. R. Briggs were among the patrolmen aiding Sheriff Monroe in policing the presidential route in the Yolo District early yesterday morning. Mr. and Mrs. Rod Degener and daughter Miss Marion left Wednesday night to attend the Salinas Rodeo. Vic Ish will operate the local theatre during Degener’s absence. C. S. Culton motored to Pacific Grove Monday, returning Wednesday with his daughter, Mary, who has spent a month in the coast city. Norman Halley of Rodeo is visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Halley in Wolfskill district. Buel Ish, orchardist of Apricot district, is reported to have purchased the B. H. Howell service station at Grant and Railroad avenues. Mr and Mrs. H. Roy Brinck and Mrs. Mary Brinck spent a pleasurable afternoon last weekend at Mare Island as guests of Captain and Mrs. C. N. Barker onboard the cruiser Huston. Captain Barker is commander of the cruiser, which is to take President Roosevelt on his vacation to Panama.]]>
