The Blackrock Project, a Fairfield musical group, will perform Saturday (Youth Day), April 28, at 7 p.m. in Winters City Park.  Enjoy, at no cost, three hours of classic rock, music funk, and Motown (mostly music from the ‘60’s and ‘70’s).  The Band covers a wide range — the Beatles, Carlos Santana, Stealers Wheel, Sly and the Family Stone are examples.  The group plays well, sings well, and has an extensive musical pedigree backed by years of music acumen. You can view some video performances at

The group has the ability to match its music to the type of audience present.  For those who were listening to the music back when, find some energy.  Come early, leave early, and you won’t bother the party animals and younger aficionados.  Better yet, listen in your cars and make out.  Memories!

Members of the group include Darrell Echols Sr., the band leader (drums, lead and background vocals, DebraLee Andersohn (lead vocals), Claudette Ramirez (vocals, percussion), Veries Echols, Jr. (guitars, vocals), Nick Eble (Bass Guitar, vocals), Mark Laybourne (guitars, vocals), Tim Osterhout (vocals, percussion), and Dan Sloan (Keyboards, vocals).
