It was a tough road trip for the Winters High School varsity boys basketball team as they traveled to Williams, Durham, then Mesa Verde and came home empty-handed.
The Warriors started the week at Williams on Tuesday, Jan. 9, and lost 60-49 to the Yellowjackets. A slow start plagued the Warriors in the end. After falling behind 28-12 at the half, the two teams evened up in the second half at 32-32 but it wasn’t enough for the comeback.
The competition got even tougher for Winters when they visited Durham on Friday, Jan. 12. Once again, the Warriors were unable to keep up with their opponent as the Trojans beat the Warriors 76-41.
Winters traveled to Citrus Heights to take on Mesa Verde High School on Saturday, Jan. 13, and lost 66-49.
