The League of Women Votes will sponsor three candidate forums for the upcoming June primary elections. Each forum begins at 7 p.m. at the Woodland Community/Senior Center, 2001 East Street, Woodland.
On Tuesday, April 10, 3rd District County Supervisor candidates Meg Stallard and Gary Sandy, will be featured.
On Wednesday, April 18, the Yolo County District Attorney candidates Dean Johansson and Jeff Reisig will be featured.
On Wednesday, April 25, Yolo County Clerk-Recorder and Elections/Assessor candidates Jesse Salinas and Dave Schwenger will be featured.
Woodland TV will be filming all three forums for broadcast at a later date.
The League had planned to host a candidate forum for the Yolo County Sheriff seat, but the incumbent declined to participate in the forum, so with only one participant, it was canceled.
The League will also provide copies of the Voter Guides from the State League at the community forums. They will also be available at the Woodland City Library and other public locations. It is printed in both Spanish and English. The State League publications can also be read on the Pros and Cons on ballot propositions on the upcoming June ballot online at CAvotes.org.
The Pros and Cons contain important, unbiased information about the ballot measures that will help voters make better decisions when they go to the polls on June 5, including:
