Farm Fresh To You (www.farmfreshtoyou.com), a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) and home delivery service that provides fresh, local, organic produce and artisanal farm products to consumers’ doorsteps, invites the public to its farm, Capay Organic, for its seventh annual Cinco de Mayo Festival on Saturday, May 5, 4-10 p.m. The farm is located at 23808 State Highway 16 in Capay.

“This is a Cinco de Mayo celebration for the whole family, and we are excited to host an evening of local food, music and fun at our farm,” said Thaddeus Barsotti, farmer and co-owner of Farm Fresh To You. “We encourage visitors to make a weekend out of this event and camp overnight. Come out and see the beauty of the land that grows their food.”

Capay Cinco de Mayo event activities include:

  • Spring veggie harvesting
  • Live music and dancing
  • Tractor-tram farm tours of the farm
  • Kids’ arts and crafts with Food Literacy Center
  • Piñata and face painting for the kids
  • Local pesto and olive oil tastings

Musician James Lee Murray will take the Capay Organic stage at 4:30 p.m. followed by Amador Sons at 7 p.m.

Mexican cuisine from Tacos 911, Cali Love Food Truck gourmet sandwiches, Luciano’s Scoop artisan gelato, Pachamama coffee, strawberry margaritas, Three Mile Brewing beer, and wine will be sold. Farm fruits and veggies and other healthy snacks will also be available for purchase at the market stand. Visitors may also bring their own food and picnic.

Beverage proceeds benefit The Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit for Sustainable Agriculture. The foundation gives an annual scholarship to a high school senior planning on pursuing a sustainable agriculture career. It also donates backpacks and school supplies to farmworkers’ families in the Capay Valley.

Event tickets are available at: www.cincodemayocelebration2018.eventbrite.com
