Four Winters teams went to Rockland on Saturday, March 4, to compete in the Regional Destination Imagination tournament. This tournament brings together teams from the local region from Reno to Dixon.

DI is an extracurricular school-supported program that teaches creative problem solving skills in fun and exciting way. All four teams competed in two different challenges.

First, an instant challenge, which emphasizes quick, on your feet, thinking where they have 5-10 minutes to solve an unknown challenge with surprise supplies. The second part was a central challenge, which was a long-term project that they worked on the entire season (October-March). All solutions were completely solved by the team and no interference by parents was allowed.

Three teams placed to move onto the State tournament that will be held in Clovis on April 7. This tournament brings together the best of California. Teams are competing to see who will advance to Global Finals.

Congratulations to The Feisty Five (managed by Jill Aguiar) The Great Goofy Gapples (managed by Rachel Skinner), and The Imaginative Imaginators (first year team managed by Cori Bronson) who are all moving onto state. Also, congratulations to The Smell Markers (managed by Sean Schroder and Mike Tuttle) who have had many successes over their six years but have decided to hang up their DI shirts as they move onto High School activities.
