Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains just outside of Winters is a remarkable full service wedding venue and bed and breakfast like no other, Field and Pond.

Field and Pond was established in 2014 by proprietor Dahvie James who is inspired to help others “discover their true nature,” especially through love and connectivity. The heart of the ranch is a California Craftsman lodge built in 1910 in which every window is picturesque of the nature around you and an inspiration to your discovery.

Truly some of the best things mother nature has to offer are here. Winds whisper through the leaves of oak trees and native grasses. Sunshine glimmers off a natural pond accompanied with ducks seemingly afloat in bliss. The air is fresh and invigorating with a hint of the smell of the earth conserved below. Birds chirp in happy songs and flutter along butterflies in harmony. Rolling hills of clovers and honeysuckle coincide with orchards in a balanced platform. A “perfect canvas for painting your perfect picture” to create a customized experience, unique to you and celebrate your special day.

Dahvie has coined the term “wedding-scaping” and connects it to the term landscaping in his business model. His goal, along with his new elite team of in-house coordinators,
is to “explore”and “tease out the layers” of each client’s vision to create a one of a kind experience to make it “more than what you could dream.” Some customizations to embrace “your style, your look” includes several choices of seating/chairs, china, table shapes, napkins, flatware, table linens, as well as table and bar glassware. Upgrades are also available if desired.

The logistics are well thought out and now streamlined for 2018 with a strong emphasis of safety to ensure “everyone has a good and safe time, in and out” of their venue. Field and Pond provides a onsite security team and has now expanded shuttle services open for guest transport to and from destinations as far as Sacramento.

The creation of Field and Pond is a true gift to our community in the way it conserves historic buildings and natural habitats, embraces the uniqueness of individuality and promotes connectivity within nature. Field and Pond’s motto “Discover your true nature” is a true inspiration, not just with a wedding venue or lodging, but with their overall approach in general to nature.
