<![CDATA[Fire crews quickly extinguished a large shed fire that erupted along Edwards Street Thursday morning. The fire happened around 10 a.m. behind a home at 8 Edwards Street, according to an Express reporter on scene. Crews from the Winters Fire Department and Winters Police Department arrived about five minutes after the blaze began. Neighbors rushed to warn nearby residents about the fire as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. The fire was upgraded to a first alarm, which drew mutual aid crews from Vacaville, Dixon and other nearby cities, Winters Fire Department Chief Brad Lopez told the Express by email. "Capt. Mendoza and Winters Fire crews were successful in making a quick knock down of the fire and prevented it from extending into the residents home," Lopez wrote. "The detached shed was a complete loss and the house received minor damage to the exterior." Lopez said no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. https://www.facebook.com/WintersExpress/videos/2348798115378767/ ]]>
