Winter is the optimal time to care for your fruit trees and help them stay healthy and productive. Join the Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency at the Hanna and Herbert Bauer Memorial Community Garden in Woodland on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 10-11:30 a.m. for a free hands-on fruit tree care class in the garden’s orchard.
This interactive class will be taught by Bonnie Berman, a UC Master Gardener of Yolo County. Bonnie has a wealth of knowledge to share about fruit tree pruning, common fruit tree pests and how to control them, as well as tips on how to improve the lifespan of your fruit trees.
This class is available to all and is part of the Yolo County Health & Human Services Agency’s commitment to providing education that can help residents eat fresh fruits and vegetables and live healthier lives. Classes are offered for free throughout the year at the community garden, and you can learn more about the garden activities and classes by visiting the website: www.yolocounty.org/garden.
Pre-registration by Friday, Jan. 25 is required for the class. To register, contact David Linebarger at 530-666-8429 or email@example.com. The garden is located at 137 N. Cottonwood Street in Woodland, on the west side of the building. Participants are encouraged to dress for cold weather and wear shoes that can get dirty.
In the event of steady rain, the class will be cancelled.]]>
