Garcia, Paschoal Selected to Play in Optimist All Star Game

Alexis Garcia and Payton Paschoal have both been chosen to play in the 41st Annual Optimist High School All Star Softball game. On May 30, the two Winters athletes will represent the South Team by joining 19 other top athletes from the greater Sacramento area. The Optimist All Star game is one of the most prestige’s venues that will showcase some of the best players in Northern California. 

The game will be played at Capital Christian High School at 9470 Micron Ave, Sacramento. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. General admission is $10.00, seniors are $8.00, students are $5.00 and kids under 12 are $3.00. The proceeds from this event will solely be used for youth programs and projects in the Sacramento and Greater Sacramento Areas. 

During the 2018 season for the Warriors Garcia led the team with a .538 average, had 24 runs scored, 18 RBI, 10 doubles, five home runs and a grand slam. Garcia also had 20 stolen bases and struck out 130 batters while taking most of the pitching duties for the team. 

Paschoal had a batting average of .438, scored 22 runs, and had eight RBI, six doubles, nine triples and 29 stolen bases.
