I always read Juan Fernandez to practice my Spanish. His article of Jan. 2 “Gracias a la Vida” was beautiful. His last line “Gracias a la Vida que me ha dado tanto” is the opening line from that beautiful song by Argentine singer/songwriter Mercedes Sosa.
His reminder that parts of our everyday selves we often take for granted also brings to mind Chilean poet Pablo Neruda’s Odes. In these he celebrates common everyday things we forget about-such as socks or seaweed. I wish this would be translated to English so everyone could read it.
Sincerely, Danielle Greenwood]]>
