At the last school board meeting, the vote was quickly passed to have Mr. Moffitt be the Principal only at Rominger. The board voted unanimously in his favor with the exception of one board member that not only voted no, but also expressed his dissatisfaction of our beloved principal before the room.

I am here to tell you a different side. I am here to tell you of the man my family has only known and admired as my kid’s awesome principal. He is a principal that cares and has a personal connection with each and every student, parent and staff member. I personally have come to Mr. Moffitt with problems that I needed help on, and he has been committed to the District’s philosophy found on their website at www.wintersjusd.org/board_policies.

Mr. Moffitt not only “challenges the student to achieve to his/her fullest potential,” but he also “makes sure our students possess the skills to be lifelong learners and effective, contributing members of society.

I don’t believe this philosophy can be done by only assessing a child’s test score. It is done by evaluating a whole child, their academic achievements as well as their ability to be strong citizens of Winters and beyond! I am in support of our principal and our teachers. The staff is doing so much already with limited resources, but they possess a bountiful desire to keep doing better for our children. We are not exactly where we need to be, but we are getting there and have a strong foundation with having Mr. Moffitt as our Principal. I am writing in support of our PTA, Winters Education Foundation (WEF) and any other person or district member that truly supports the district philosophy with me.

In closing, get involved in the PTA, volunteer or donate to WEF, attend a board meeting, and get to know the Waggoner staff. You can make a difference in a small town like ours.
