The following special programs are offered in February at the Winters Community Library, 708 Railroad Avenue:

~  February is Black History Month. Join the library staff in paying tribute to the generations of African Americans who have enriched America’s history and are instrumental in its future success. Check out our book display and bibliography.

~  Happy Lunar New Year 201 — Year of the Dog: Look for the display table with resources, coloring pages, and a take-home craft.

~  Feb. 1: Upcycle Your Calendar, 6 p.m. Learn how to transform old calendars into beautiful gift bags, envelopes and more.

Participants are invited to bring their own calendars but do not need them to in order to participate. Supplies will be provided.

~  Feb. 13: Valentine’s Day Crafts, 3:30 p.m. Share the love and have fun making Valentine’s Day cards, bookmarks and more. All ages welcome.

The following ongoing programs will continue in February

~  SUCCESS: Afterschool Homework Help on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3 p.m.

~  Tales for Tails: Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m.

~  Needle Arts: first and third Tuesdays, 4 p.m.

~  Libros y Chisme (Book Club in Spanish): second Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

~  Family Story Time: Wednesdays, 10:30 a.m.

~  Literary Trails: Wednesdays, 2 p.m.

~  Lego Block Party: second Saturday, 2 p.m.

~  Hora de Cuentas/Bilingual Story Time: Thursdays, 6:30 p.m. (Sponsored by First 5 Yolo.)

~  Aguas Frescas: last Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.

~  Family Movie: last Saturday of the month, 2 p.m. All movies will be “Family Friendly” (G or PG). Call the library for the title, 795-4955.

~  Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot & Chromebooks. These are now available for check out. Contact the Winters Community Library for details.

Except where noted, all programs are sponsored by the Winters Friends of the Library, are free to attend and no registration is required.
