News Brief: City postpones strategic planning workshop on economic development

The City of Winters has postponed an upcoming workshop that was scheduled for Wednesday on the topic of economic development.

focus on five specific areas: Planning and economic development; community facilities and services, including parks; infrastructure, including city roads, water and wastewater services; city organization and structure, including roles of various city officials and staffing needs; and public safety. The city has already held workshops on infrastructure and public safety. The economic development workshop was scheduled to be the third in a five-part installment that will culminate into a two-day seminar in which officials will prioritize the issues and ideas discussed at the previous meetings. On Monday, Donlevy said the “schedule for the strategic planning series is being re-worked” and will be disclosed to the public in the coming weeks. “The number of conflicts arising are significant,” Donlevy wrote in an email to the Express. “Time to come up with another schedule.”]]>
