It was a hard -fought game that was pretty much decided in the second period. The Winters High School varsity girls basketball team played a very evenly matched game against Live Oak on Thursday, Feb. 8, at Live Oak. Each period the score was within 2 points except for the second when the Lions outscored the Warriors 15-6. In the end, Winters lost 56-46. JorDann Jones led the team with 13 points, grabbed nine rebounds, had two assists and a steal. Mayce Newcomb scored 11 points, had five rebounds and two steals.
Sheila Mora scored 11 points, had five rebounds, an assist and a steal. Alexis Garcia scored 9 points, had a rebound and two assists, while Makenzie Tuttle scored 2 points and had two rebounds.
