Warriors beat Pierce back to back

After defeating the Pierce Bears twice last week, the Winters High School varsity softball team is now 2-2 in the Sacramento Valley League. Winters traveled to Arbuckle on Tuesday, April 17, and came home with a 5-2 victory.

Alexis Garcia led the Warriors at the plate, batting 3 for 4 with a homerun, a double, two runs scored and three RBI. Makynsie Tuttle batted 2 for 3 with a run scored. Christi Woods went 1 for 3. Camryn Hamilton batted 1 for 3 with a run scored. Alexia Larsen batted 1 for 3. AliAnn Iten batted 1 for 2 with a run scored. Jocelyn McMillan batted 1 for 3 and Eli Moore went 1 for 4 with a double and an RBI.

At home, the Warriors dominated Pierce with a 9-0 shutout on Friday, April 20. Winters totaled eight hits with a homerun, two triples and four doubles.

Garcia stayed hot batting 2 for 2 with a homerun, a double, three runs scored and two RBI. McMillan went 2 for 2 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI. Payton Paschoal batted 2 for 3 with two triples, two runs scored and an RBI. Tuttle scored a run and had an RBI. Larsen had an RBI. Iten batted 1 for 2 with a run scored, while Moore went 1 for 4 with a double and a run scored.
