Winters FFA seeks success at Yolo County Fair

By: Jordan Cobaugh Winters FFA Reporter / Special to the Express Agricultural Education is based off of a three circle model: classroom instruction, FFA and Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE). Winters FFA members have been working diligently this summer on that third circle SAE. Approximately 45 students will be exhibiting projects at the Yolo County Fair from Aug. 15 to 18. These projects include hogs, sheep, goats, cattle, rabbits and unique Ag Mechanics masterpieces. Possible Mechanic projects consist of metal/wood benches, fire pit, metal rimmed mirror, wooden table, American flag decor and various other wood and metal items. blank At 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug, 18 there is a buyers luncheon that is free for all registered buyers. The Livestock Auction is Aug. 18 beginning at 1 p.m. The Seventh Annual Yolo County Fair AG Mechanics Auction will be held Aug. 18 on a Saturday at 3 p.m., following the livestock auction. Students have been working hard this summer, taking care of their livestock and ensuring that they are of a desirable market weight and finish.
