Free Educational Program on Medicare On Tuesday, Aug. 21, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m., the City of Winters Older Adult Programs and AARP will be co-hosting: “Medicare-What you need to Know” at the Winters Senior Apartments, 400 Morgan St. in the Community Room. The public is welcome. Come learn more about Medicare so you can get the most out of your coverage. The presentation will include an explanation of Medicare’s parts, choices and deadlines and will include question and answer time for participants. Free Transportation Options Available for Older Adults in Winters Beginning Aug. 14, the City of Winters door-to-door service bus service for older adults will now be going to the Walmart in Dixon and continue every Tuesday. Any older adult and up to one caregiver are welcome with a reservation, including persons using walkers and wheelchairs. The bus has a wheelchair lift. To make a reservation, call the City of Winters at 530-795-4910 (Spanish and English). The deadline to request a ride is each Monday at noon and pick up will be on Tuesdays between 9 a.m.- 10 a.m. and return will be around noon.
