On Monday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. the Yolo Prostate Cancer Support Group welcomes physiologist Phil Summers, Ph.D. He will discuss the use of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) imaging to target metastatic prostate cancer lesions for radiation therapy. Summers — who has had recurrent prostate cancer since 2006 — underwent the experimental procedure recently in a clinical trial. This month the meeting is at Mary L. Stephens Davis Branch Library, 315  E. 14th Street, Davis.

The Yolo Prostate Cancer Support Group invites men, as well as their spouses and family members, to meet with prostate cancer survivors to learn about treatment options, and their experiences with recovery and side effects. The support group, established in 2006, is composed of volunteers; attendance and informative handout materials, as available, are free of charge.
