The Winters Fire Department is this week’s honorary Athlete of the Week. The volleyball coaches nominated the WFD for their efforts and actions to assist on Thursday during the junior varsity volleyball game. A volleyball hit one of the lights in the high school gym, knocking the protective grid loose and rendering the light unsafe to continue play. The WFD came out and took down the grid and the fluorescent tubes so the games could continue. A big shout out to WFD Fire Captains Matthew Schechla and Art Mendoza, Lieutenant Phil Hoag and firefighters Nicole LoBese and Diana Marroquin.]]>
