Looking for some of the best produce around and want to support the local economy? The Double R Ranch has an array of fresh and dried fruits and vegetables as well as honey, nuts, and balsamic vinegars.
Family owned and operated since the late ’70s, this local produce stand offers free samples before purchase. The deep rooted tradition of sharing the benefits of their hard work is in the essence of every bite.
Luckily for the locals, this gem is just on the outskirts of Winters. However, many travel a great distance to treat their taste buds and make this destination a ritual stop upon their travels.
Michaele Thunan of San Francisco travels from the bay area to Chico every couple of weeks and shares that he, “stops every time to get the most wonderful fresh fruit and vegetables.”
“Aren’t we the lucky ones,” he says when referring to the delicious picks available at Double R Ranch.
First time sampler Sheila Decena of Haywood, CA recently visited the stand. Decena shared that she purchased the apricots and cherries and would definitely return to the truly noteworthy “fresh” finds here.
Currently available at Double R Ranch:
Fresh fruits: various peaches, cherries, white nectarines, apricots and seedless watermelons.
Dried fruits: peaches, pears, apple rings, apricots, nectarines and sun dried tomatoes.
