Drilling for city’s new domestic water well commenced on Monday in the Winters Highland subdivision where Taylor and Vasey Streets intersect.

Sound barriers have been erected around the drilling site in effort to reduce noise disturbances during the 24/7 drilling operation. This phase of the operation is expected to take 15 days to complete.

City Well No. 8 is to be drilled to a depth in excess of 800 feet. Nighttime lighting will be directed away from residences and lighting on the drill rig will be pointed downward. Backup beepers will be disabled during nighttime operations.

For any concerns contact project supervisor Scott Lewis by email at or by cell phone 916-240‐0230. Lewis will be responsive 24/7 during the drilling operation.
