All Winters High School and Winters Jr Warriors athletes can fulfill their required sports physicals on Monday, July 22 at the Sutter Medical Plaza Winters located at 111 Main St., Suite B. The sports physicals are $20 per athlete and will be given from 5-8 p.m. Any WHS students planning on participating in sports for the 2019-2020 school year are required to have a sports physical and must have the health questionnaire filled out before participating. The first season of upcoming WHS sports features football, volleyball and swim team athletes. The health questionnaire can be printed from the WHS Athletic Handbook. A parent or guardian will need to fill it out ahead of time before their athlete’s sports physical. Daniel Ward, WHS Athletic Director, said some additional copies of the health questionnaire will be available on site on the day of the scheduled sports physical. The WHS Athletic Handbook is available online at https://whs-wintersjusd-ca.schoolloop.com/athletics. Ward said the sports physical serves as a fundraiser for the WHS Athletics program, and Sutter donates the $20 back for each WHS athlete that comes in. Shelly Baylor, a WJW board member, said all Winters Jr Warriors players and cheer squad members are required to have a current sports physical before they are able to participate at the first day of practice on Monday, July 29 from 6-8 p.m. WJW athletes must have a parent or guardian fill out a health questionnaire (provided at the Sutter Medical office) and the ISAC (Independent Sports Alliance of California) Medical Clearance Form. A parent or guardian can print out the form and sign it before hand. The form is available at http://myjrwarriors.com. Baylor confirmed Sutter will be donating back $20 for each WJW athlete that participates in this sports physical. She said the donated funds allow them to keep registration costs low and help to support the entire program.  If a WHS or WJW athlete is unable to attend the scheduled sports physical they need to print out the required forms and have their personal physician sign them before participating.]]>
