The Winters Lions Club and the family of Adam Davis invite the community to join them at the Winters Community Blood Drive to celebrate Adam’s life and his memory by giving the gift of life. The blood drive will take place at the Community Center on Monday, Nov. 27, 1:30-7:30 p.m.

“Every two seconds, someone in the United States receives blood,” says Heather Sharp of BloodSource. “It is the blood on the shelves that saves lives and gives precious time with loved ones. The blood drive will help replenish our community blood supply and will give a precious gift to a patient in need.

“This is the time of year when we give thanks but we also remember special times with those that we hold dear in our hearts. We ask you that you encourage friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members to give blood so that patients who receive these special gifts of life can look forward to spending future holidays with loved ones.”

Donating blood is safe, easy and takes about an hour. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds; 16 and 17 year olds can donate with a signed BloodSource parental consent form, and be in general good health. There is no upper age limit for blood donations.

Donors must bring a photo ID and should drink plenty of fluids before donating. Potential marrow donors can register for Be The Match national marrow registry through BloodSource.

Walk ins are welcome, and all participants will get a free T-shirt.
