Due to the ongoing need to maintain a constant blood supply, BloodSource will partner with the Winters Lions Club to host another Winters Community Blood Drive on Monday, May 21, from 2:30-7 p.m. at the Community Center.

The need for blood donation constant. BloodSource is asking that communities to work together as the summer months approach in order to help boost the community blood supply.

“We ask for your support in raising awareness about the regular need for blood donation,” says BloodSource spokesperson Heather Sharp. “Please share this message on your social networks and in your daily conversations with family, friends and colleagues. Thank you in advance for your support of a safe and available blood supply.”

Donating blood is safe, easy and takes about an hour. Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds; 16 and 17 year olds can donate with a signed BloodSource parental consent form, and be in general good health. There is no upper age limit for blood donations

Donors must bring a photo ID and should drink plenty of fluids before donating. Potential marrow donors can register for Be The Match national marrow registry through BloodSource. Find more information or schedule an appointment by calling 866-822-5663 or visit www.bloodsource.org

All participants will receive a promo code for their choice of a SF Giants or Oakland A’s Blood Donor T-shirt, redeemable at my.bloodsource.org

Established in 1948 as a not-for-profit community blood bank, BloodSource provides lifesaving services to millions of people in 26 counties throughout Northern and Central California.
