The Winters High School Class of 2022 is looking forward to their final semester of high school and wherever their next road may lead. In the meantime, they are reaching out to the community to raise funds to go toward their prom and senior trip events.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic causing disruption to school and activities during their sophomore, junior and senior years, they have been unable to fundraise for the biggest end-of-the-year activities — their prom and senior trip.

Class of 2022 students and their families are reaching out to the community and asking for donations through an “un-fundraiser” effort. While most fundraisers require individuals to sell something, the point of an un-fundraiser is to collect amounts of money with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the cause. Proceeds from the Class of 2022 un-fundraiser will go towards their prom and senior trip fund.

In a letter to the community they noted that if every senior class member can get $20 donated, they would have raised $2,000 for the senior class. Copies of the letter are available at the WHS office or through any Class of 2022 student.

Checks can be made payable to “Winters High School” with “Class of 2022” in the memo blank. Checks can be dropped off at the WHS office or mailed to Winters High School, 101 Grant Avenue, Winters, CA 95694.

Cash donations are being accepted in a drop box in room B5 on the WHS campus. Cash donations can only be dropped off during school hours.

The Class of 2022 is asking for the bottom portion of the un-fundraiser letter to be returned with donations by Friday, Feb. 18.
