Winters resident Fernando Gutierrez has just returned from Baja California, where he distributed over 300 shirts donated by the Museum of Ice Cream to a Mexican daycare. Gutierrez hosted a raffle this past Youth Day to raise funds for an orphanage in Mexico that he became connected with through Liga International, a charity that brings medical care to areas in Mexico that it would otherwise be inaccessible. This daycare center currently cares for 74 children of working parents, and also hosts a clinic hosted by an organization called The Flying Samaritan. This program is similar to Liga International, but travels specifically to Baja California. ]]>
