The Winters District Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the 2nd annual holiday tractor cut out decorating contest. The Chamber started the contest last year after the pandemic caused cancellation of the tractor parade.
Those interested in entering can register online on the Chamber’s website (www.WintersChamber.com). The $50 registration fee includes the roughly 3.5-feet tall by 4-feet wide plywood tractor cut out.
Once registered, participants pick up their tractor cut out from the Chamber’s office located at 201 First St. and paint, decorate, add lights and trick it out before placing it visibly in the yard for community voting.
Starting Dec. 1 and continuing through Dec. 20, anyone can vote for their favorite tractor. A link will be provided on the Chamber’s Facebook page and website with additional voting instructions. Winners will be announced on Dec. 21.
A cash prize of $300 will be awarded to the first-place winner, $200 for second place and $100 for third place.
Participants in last year’s contest may register their tractor in this year’s contest for free but will need to obtain a new registration number to compete for the cash prizes.
Added to the contest this year is a trailer cut out to compliment tractors. Trailers are $40 and community members are encouraged to sponsor tractor and trailer cut outs.
For more information, visit the Chamber’s website or call 530-795-2329.
