Judge Cortés to speak at annual WFoL gathering

Winters Friends of the Library will be hosting their Annual Gathering on Monday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Winters Community Library. All are invited to attend.

Food and refreshments will be provided by the Winters High School culinary arts class during the first part of the evening.

The Friends will also welcome Judge Sonia Cortés as the guest speaker. Cortés, a former Winters resident and a Winters High School graduate, is the first Latina or Latino judge ever appointed to the Yolo County Superior Court.

Board officers for 2018 will be elected at the event. The slate of nominated officers for 2018 includes president, Bianca Cox; vice president, Crystal Apilado; past president, Carol Scianna; secretary, Sonya Godinez; treasurer, Sally Brown.

A raffle drawing will be held for those who join or renew their WFoL memberships. Childcare will be provided in the library for those with kids who wish to attend.
