Special to the Express
Join Master Gardeners of Yolo County for their “Kitchen Garden Chat” on Saturday, March 5 from 10 to 11 a.m. via Zoom (https://ucanr.zoomus/j/98028723763).
The focus for the March chat is patience. Planting at the right time may mean waiting for the right conditions. This talk will encourage community members to be patient as they learn why one should avoid planting too early.
In addition, the presentation will cover seed starting and the equipment to facilitate successful sprouting. As seasons change, so do the critters that might be visiting in the garden. Join in on March 5 and learn how to manage them. And come prepared with gardening questions, as the presenter will answer specific questions submitted by participants during the program
Yolo County Master Gardeners present monthly chats which focus on how to plan for and work in the year-round garden with tips for the gardener on what to plant each month, what chores should be done, and what you could be eating from your garden. Each month’s presentation is a different theme and focus that encourages everyone, from novice to master, to share, chat, and learn about all things gardening.
Community members who are unable to attend the March “Kitchen Garden Chat” may get help and/or advice for their garden by phone through the Master Gardener Hotline at 530-666-8737 or by sending in question via email to mgyolo@ucdavis.edu.
