Muralists have officially begun work on the Summer 2022 Winters History Mural Project on the side of the Winters Post Office building.

The Winters Participation Gallery recruited student artists and teamed them up with local muralists Jaime Montiel and Celestino Galabasa Jr. and Winters High School art teacher Kate Humphrey to design and create the sixth history mural.

This year’s mural is focusing on the history of the United States Postal Service in Winters. In June, the mural crew received a personal tour from Galabasa, postman extraordinaire, and Winters Postmaster Aimee Lassalle.

On July 8, the muralists began to plot the design on the wall and bringing the design to life.

The Winters Participation Gallery is collecting donations for its current project, and to fund future murals. For information on how to make donations, visit the Winters Participation Gallery website at www.wintersparticipationgallery.org.
