Sponsors for the Car and Bike Show have been, to date: The Green River Brewing and Tap Room, Your Town Monthly and Y2 Creative Solutions. Proceeds of this event benefit graduates of the Winters Unified School District. Previously the proceeds from this event were slated to fund a shade structure at the Bobbie Greenwood Community Swim Center. Due to the fact that labor and materials costs to construct the structure rose beyond expectations, the committee decided the funds were better suited to address a more immediate need for the future of Winters. It has been decided that 100 percent of the proceeds from the community events will be used to grant scholarships for graduates of the Winters Unified School District. The students who are awarded these scholarships may use them to further their education at the school of their choice, whether it be a vocational school, college or a university.
General donations for the scholarship fund can be mailed to First Northern Bank, Winters Financial Center, 48 Main St., Winters, CA 95694. Attn: Holden Philbrook Memorial Fund.
