Seeking scarecrows for annual contest

Calling all you Scarecrow lovers: The annual Scarecrow Contest will soon be underway. Sponsored by the Winters Chamber of Commerce, the contest is open to all local businesses, clubs, organizations and private homes.

It is requested that scarecrows be displayed no later than Sunday, Oct. 15 and remain up through Halloween. There is no specific theme for the scarecrows, so let your imagination go wild.

Scarecrows will be judged Oct. 23-26, and the winners will be announced at the last Fourth Friday on Oct. 27. There will be awards for both businesses and private residences.
