The annual Winters Thanksgiving Community Dinner takes place on Thanksgiving Day at noon at the Community Center. Those who are unable to go to the Community Center can have a meal delivered to them at home on Thanksgiving Day from 12-1 p.m.
A full, hot, traditional sit-down meal with dessert is planned. Last year, 448 meals were provided to those in need in the Winters community.
Donations of food and money are needed to support this annual event. Volunteer help is also needed.
Funds can be donate at First Northern Bank under “Winters Community Dinner.” Red food collection bins are placed at Anytime Fitness, Camille’s, Pacific Ace Hardware, First Northern Bank and the Community Center to drop off canned green beans, canned corn and boxed stuffing mix. There is an additional purple bin outside Anytime Fitness where items can be dropped off 24-7.
To help prepare, serve or deliver meals, or if you or someone you know needs a meal delivered, call Marie, 795-4824, or Gwen, 795-4444, for more information.
