Exciting news for fruit tree shoppers. The Winters Friends of the Library now has posted a listing of the available trees on its website (wfol.org).
The detailed list includes all the fruit and nut trees that are being sold at the annual WFoL Fruit Tree Sale on Saturday, March 5. The list will help to prepare for shopping. It includes details of all the varieties of almonds, apples, cherries, olives, nectarines, peaches, pluots, prunes and walnuts.
The trees were donated by Sierra Gold Nurseries in Yuba City and are on sale for $10 each. (There is a limit of 10 trees per person.) Proceeds from the sale will be used to improve library collections and programs.
The fruit tree sale is being held in the parking lot on Railroad Avenue between Baker and Edwards Streets. The sale starts at 9 a.m. and will end when the last tree is sold. WFoL members can enter the event early at 8:30 a.m. There will be a membership table at the entrance so community members can join right there.
Master Gardeners and pruners will be on hand to explain techniques for pruning and planting the trees. For additional information, call Marcia Gibbs at 530-795-0606.
