Winters Community Blood Drive is Nov 8

Vitalant and the Lions Club of Winters are hosting a community blood drive at the Winters Community Center (201 Railroad Ave.) on Nov. 8 from 1 to 5 p.m.

Community members can schedule their appointment ahead of time at and choose “Advanced Search,” and blood drive code “SMFM164” in the indicated field. An appointment can also be made by calling Vitalant at 1-866-822-5663 and mentioning the same blood drive code. Walk-ins will be welcomed if space allows.

Donors must bring a photo I.D. with them on the day of the blood drive. They are also encouraged to eat and drink plenty of fluids before donating. Whole blood donors must be at least 16 years old (16 year old’s need a signed Vitalant parental consent form available online at, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and be in good general health.

Donors are required to wear a mask or face covering that covers the nose and mouth when they come to donate blood. One-way valve masks are prohibited. Donors must bring their own cloth-based face covering in order to donate blood.
