Soroptimist International of Winters completed their initial “Dream It, Be it” program in April. Monze Garcia received “The Dream It, Be It” award for her thoughtful contributions, stellar dedication and personal application to her dream of becoming a veterinarian. Monze is shown with Monique Preciado (RISE), and Deborah Taylor, DVM. The program offers career guidance for young women. The program focuses on discovering your dreams, exploring careers, creating achievable goals, rising above obstacles, turning failure into success, balancing stress and putting dreams into action. The program was offered in coordination with Monique Preciado of RISE and our local Soroptimist Group. Soroptimist members delivered the program in a small group format while offering their various experiences and expertise as well as mentorship. Plans are in process to offer the program again in the fall. We hope to enlist Monze as an intern in the program. Her experiences will be helpful as we plan for our next session of “Dream It, Be It.” More details will follow once final plans are made for September, 2019.
