WHS 2019 scholarship recipients honored for achievement

Over 30 Winters students were recognized with scholarships at the Senior Awards Night.

Winters High School seniors were recognized for achievement and awarded scholarships from local agencies both in Winters and Yolo County on Tuesday, May 21 at the WHS Senior Awards Night. Many presenters gave praise for the WHS Class of 2019 noting that the decisions were challenging because the candidates were not only intelligent, but also strong individuals. They also gave thanks to parents and noted they should be proud of the students in the Winters community. Anytime Fitness Manager, Gwen Pisani, presented the first scholarship and set the tone for the night. “It has been an epic, epic year. Winters High School, you have amazing students,” said Pisani. Peggy Kelley, first representing the Fortnightly Club of Winters, also gave praise to Winters Joint Unified School staff. “I need to thank teachers out there. There’s some really smart kids in your school,” Kelley said. The list of WHS Class of 2019 scholarship recipients is as follows: Aaron Barnett: Winters Rotary Scholarship.
