Fronted by 19-year-old guitarist and vocalist Zach Waters, the Sacramento-based Zach Waters Band is an award-winning blues-rock band. In addition to Waters, the power trio is drummer Steve Pires and bassist Alex Parker. The Zach Waters Band will make their debut at The Palms Playhouse on Saturday, Sept. 7 starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $18 for general admission and $12 for students. Waters is first and foremost a guitarist, but also plays bass, keyboards, mandolin and ukulele. Taking inspiration from classic artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Montrose, Alice In Chains, Led Zeppelin, Robin Trower and more, this young artist is putting his own twist on blues-driven classic rock. “I want to not only create music that directly reflects who I am,” he said, “I want to explore the music that foreshadows who I will become.” In 2018, the readers of Sacramento News & Review voted the band Best Blues/Rock Act in the Sacramento region, winning them their first Sacramento Music Award, or Sammie. This year, the band has received three Sammie nominations (Blues, Teen Artist, Live Performer). The Zach Waters Band has shared the stage with Jackie Greene, Tommy Castro, Chris Cain, Dokken, Y&T, Pat Travers, Frank Hannon, LA Guns, Gretchen Menn, Ron Artis II and others. Waters is an endorsed artist for Ernie Ball Music Man, Tantris Picks and Thimble Guitar Slides. Tickets are available at Pacific Ace Hardware in Winters, Armadillo Music in Davis, Davids’ Broken Note in Woodland, online via The Palms’ website and Eventbrite, and at the door if the show is not sold out.
