With the new moon approaching on Monday, June 3, nighttime explorers can take advantage of the darker skies to appreciate excellent stargazing opportunities. Join volunteer Lake Solano Docents for an evening hike to see the park in a new “light.” This event is a good opportunity to learn some constellations and appreciate the quiet of Lake Solano at night!
This event begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, May 31 at the Lake Solano Nature Center, located at 8685 Pleasants Valley Road, Winters and concludes at 9:30 PM. The tour is free and family-friendly (bedtimes permitting). Continue to enjoy the park by renting a campsite for the weekend. Parking at Lake Solano Park is $6, payable (cash/check, exact change only) at the entrance kiosk on the day use side.
