As a run-up to Mother’s Day, Yolo Hospice plans a special two-hour workshop May 3 on issues surrounding the loss of a mother.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to noon at the hospice office, 1909 Galileo Court, Suite A, in Davis. Registration is required; please call 530-758-5566. Attendance is free of charge, but donations are always welcome.
“We will reflect on how ‘Mother Loss’ may currently present as a challenge as you are met with grief and its process,” says David Deerfeeder, Yolo Hospice manager of bereavement services. “Join others as we explore personal meaning through discussion and the sharing of personal narratives.”
Yolo Hospice is a nonprofit, community-based organization that provides expert and compassionate hospice care, palliative care, bereavement services, and public education about end-of-life issues for all people in the region’s culturally diverse community.
The organization has been serving patients and families in Colusa, Sacramento, Solano, Sutter, and Yolo Counties for 40 years. In 2017, it formed a strategic alliance with Citizens Who Care to expand its services, particularly caregiver support.
