As the co-owner of Steady Eddy’s Coffee House alongside my husband and Master Roaster, Jamell Wroten,  we are experiencing major changes in the way we do business here locally. It seems that the “good old days” of having one of each kind of shop or restaurant in town is coming to an end. We took over the coffee shop on December 3, 2013, and we could not have predicted the growth that is happening now.

What does it mean to be a local family running a business in this town? It means you must care and matter to this community or people will not support you. This is the reality we face, and honestly is it a never ending quest to seek and maintain local success.  With recent growth, we knew we had to set ourselves as far apart from the competition as possible. We did not want to be caught in the comparison game of who is better, we just wanted to be the best and most authentic coffee shop that Winters and Yolo County will ever see. It has sparked a passion inside us and has allowed us to seek what we are best at.  We are coffee roasters and every drink in our shop has been roasted by owner, Jamell in Downtown Winters. We have the highest quality coffee and loose leaf tea, and an exciting drink and food menu that can cater to all crowds. We are not looking to be a fast food coffee shop. We want to continue to be innovative and create a fun space where you can enjoy a cup of fresh roasted coffee and feel good about being somewhere that is diverse, inclusive, and kind. Most importantly, we take price and put significant effort into provided a memorable gathering place where friends, family members, and business associates can sit, stay, and enjoy!
