Arrests made in 2016 case of missing Esparto teens

Three arrests have been made related to the disappearance of both Enrique Rios and Elijah Moore, the two missing Esparto teenagers who disappeared in 2016.

According to a news release from the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, on Friday, June 8, Chandale Shannon, 21, of Winters, was arrested and booked for murder and conspiracy. Also on Friday, Jesus Campos, 18, of Woodland, was arrested and booked for murder, conspiracy, and kidnapping. On Saturday, June 9, Jonathan Froste, 21, of Knights Landing, was arrested and booked for murder and kidnapping.

Campos will be arraigned as a juvenile the afternoon of June 14. Shannon and Froste will be arraigned as adults in court Monday afternoon.

This investigation is active and ongoing. The Sheriff’s Office expects to have additional information available for release in the upcoming days. As of now, no additional information will be released.

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office continues to work closely with the Woodland Police Department and FBI as this matter is investigated.
