Field of Dreams “Build it and they will come” will be put to the test this week at the Winters High School Dr. Sellers Football Field. The construction crew is putting the final touches on the newly renovated field this week just in time for the Warriors home opener against Rio Vista this Friday, Sept. 7. Long gone are the days of poor lighting and dangerous seating. Now the Warriors can take pride in hosting their home games in a top rated stadium that features all new bleachers on both sides of the field, a new announcers’ booth and new lighting for the field and the walkways. “I am extremely excited to play in a new stadium,” said Athletic Director and head varsity football coach Daniel Ward. “Now we have something to be proud of when other teams come to town to play us. I think it’s one of the best venues around and I would like to thank Dr. Cutler, the school board and most importantly the community for recognizing the need and voting it in. Hopefully this Friday we can fill the new bleachers with fans all wearing red to show their support.” See more high school football coverage on the new Winters Express sports page at www.wintersexpress.com/sports]]>
