Caltrans crews will begin working on repairs along Interstate 80 (I-80) near Vacaville after the LNU Lightning Complex flames caused damage to the area.
The work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, Sept. 8 and is expected to last until mid-November, permitting weather conditions.
Crews will remove hazardous trees, repair highway signs, drainage and slopes in burned out areas.
There will be nightly lane closures on the mainline I-80 and Cherry Glen overcrossing on/off ramps within the project limit.
Eastbound I-80 will be closed between Manuel Campos Parkway and the Cherry Glen overcrossing left shoulder and number one lane starting at 9 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Westbound I-80 at the Cherry Glen off/on ramps will also be closed starting at 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
Traffic will be detoured to the following on/off ramp at Manuel Campos Parkway.
Motorists should expect delays and asked to slow down at the lane closure zones.
