FBI offers $10,000 reward for Melendez

The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading directly to the location, arrest and conviction of Adrianna Melendez, 26, of Winters.

On Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at approximately 4:55 p.m., Melendez allegedly struck and killed bicyclist Dan Taylor, 72, while he was riding on Putah Creek Road in rural Winters on the Solano County side of Putah Creek.

An investigation by the Solano County office of the California Highway Patrol identified Melendez as the driver of the vehicle, and the Superior Court of Solano County issued a warrant for her arrest on Sept. 10, 2014, charging her with vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run.

The FBI attempted to locate Melendez, and suspect she may have fled to Jalisco, Mexico. The FBI is seeking Melendez to face the 2014 charges in Solano County. An additional federal arrest warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued on April 11, 2017 in the United States District Court, Eastern District of California in Sacramento, and the notice of a reward leading to her arrest was issued on Nov. 6.

Melendez is described as 26-year-old Hispanic female, 5 feet 3 inches tall, and approximately 256 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was a former Winters High School student, Class of 2009.

The victim, Taylor, was cycling on Putah Creek Road to warm up for a timed interval race to be held nearby. He was a father and grandfather, and died as a result of his injuries.
